Working outdoors in Colorado during the month of December is no small feat. For both myself and the ladies who I work with for these sessions in the snow, it’s hard conditions. Mandy was brave and came out to meet me for this Black Forest Regional Park boudoir photography session. When we met we were comfortable right off the bat making the session comfortable and easy. As we checked out the area we went through some trails and found a location where the light was pouring in through the trees.
To start off this Black Forest Regional Park boudoir photography session we began with some standard shots. As we continued through the shoot we found that this spot was a little heavy in foot traffic. It was more than we’d initially anticipated and the tipping point was when some hikers went by the general area. Their dog came over to Mandy as she was on the ground for some poses to say hello. We actually ended up getting some really cute photos with her and the golden retriever in the end.
After we found a new spot that was a more suitable location we began to introduce some boudoir elements. As she began posing and working with different wardrobe options we got some great shots together. She was awesome as she braved standing in the cold snow and even laying down on it for some portions. She was incredibly gracious, brave and fun to work with and I’m grateful for the experience of working with Mandy.
Shooting outdoors is a great experience and the beautiful locations around the country provide some beautiful backdrops.
