Discussion with Miss Jess started just 2 weeks before we got to shoot together. Our conversation prior to the shoot and even throughout the session was on the topic of how the female body is over sexualized in America. She and I both had more conservative Christian upbringings and both grew up with similar views concerning modesty. Our view of this has definitely changed over the years through shooting boudoir sessions and living in Europe. The Europeans have a much different view toward nudity and sexuality. Going to the beach you would see men and women in the nude. If you went to the sauna it was expected that you would enter in the nude. I think with this approach it changes nudity from being taboo and sexualized to something that is natural and normal.

When she got here for the shoot we had to progress through mental road blocks established by societal norms in America. Above and beyond the social norms here there were more conservative ideas given through the church. We typically start out sessions conservatively so we can become comfortable working together as it is. This was no different and we took things slow talking through the ideologies around boudoir and nudity. As we progressed through this Spring Hill boudoir session Miss Jess became more and more comfortable with the session. It was awesome to have such an in depth conversation and help to deconstruct ideas we’d both been taught growing up.

NASHVILLE BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY

To start this Spring Hill boudoir session out Miss Jess began in stockings with a black undergarment set. For the first portion she also included a white button up shirt. I had her sit in our white chair next to the window to get things going and get comfortable shooting together. Progressing through poses and comfort levels we moved things over to the bed. Here she posed in just the stockings and black underwear set. After that we did some photos on the bed with just the black undergarment set. With some good shots we progressed to do some shots topless and some with hiding her chest behind the bed railing.

More comfortable with being more revealing we went back to the chair with just the stockings, underwear and white button up shirt. We did a number of different poses with states of undress while sitting here. From there we went back to the bed and she did some more laying down. With good shots there she sat on the bede railing with just the stockings and underwear to wrap up this Spring Hill boudoir session.
