After returning from Europe we were right back in the swing of things. We only had a few weeks home in Colorado before heading off to Rachel’s next contract in Sacramento. After a few months of schedules not aligning we were able to find a date that worked for our schedules and we coordinated to shoot this Castlewood Canyon State Park boudoir photography session in Castle Rock, Colorado.

As we pulled in the gate officer let us know that the gates close AT sunset. The officer said if we’re not out when the sun sets, he’d close the gate and we’d be fined. We made sure to set alarms to make sure we were out on time. So when Jayden arrived we had taken some time already to scout exactly where we were wanting to go since we were limited on time due to the gates closing.

We jumped right in and found some field space to work in as the sun began to set. The light was beautiful and golden and Jayden was great to work with. She had great ideas and was super comfortable, personable and easy to communicate with. We began the session with her in a black flowing dress and a hat. We dressed it down as we went and kept the hat for some great shots in the setting sunlight. From there we moved over to the canyon and got some more fun shots that had a little more travel/fashion feel.

Next we walked a little further down the trail and found a beautiful spot with a solemn tree. The sunlight was shining perfectly on it and we stopped here for a number of shots. We began in a fun floral dress and dressed that down. Then we switched to a flannel button up shirt to wrap up at this location. We knew the sun was setting and we had to make our way out so we began to talk back toward the cars. On the way out we stopped at a few last spots for some quick shots.

This was a beautiful location to shoot at and we’d be happy to shoot here again! Jayden was so great to work with and we’re looking forward to the possibility of working together with her again as well!
