I’d done a shoot at this location before and wanted to explore some different areas it for this shoot. When I met with Miss Alexandria we did introductions and began to explore together. She had a girlfriend come along to the session, which we always welcome, and got hiking. We got in a little to find a location off the main path and saw a good spot to start.

Getting going with a session like this is always a little nerve-racking and I did my best to talk with her and her friend. I usually find common ground and get laughter going to loosen nerves through the session. Before we knew it we were working into some really great shots with the sun pouring through the branches. The sun was lighting up the colorful leaves all around her for some beautiful images.

Miss Alexandria’s friend was a great cheerleader and encouraged her through the whole process. She helped her feel more comfortable as we went through the session encouraging her to push her limits. We started with shooting into the light and then turned to shoot away from the light with her posing in various positions. Throughout the little forested area we had selected to work in we found great little spots to shoot. Once we’d worked that location over we moved up to the side of the hill next to us that was covered in a shorter thicket area. This spot had great lighting and we got some more great photos facing into and away from the sun.

We wrapped up the session there with some great shots and came back to her friend who had opted to stay on the other side of the hill and not treck up the side we did with us. This is a beautiful location and we’ve yet to explore all of it. We’d love the opportunity to continue to explore this park and find new little areas to shoot at.
